Hridaya Raaga, a musical evening in being organized at the Place Grounds on Wednesday, the 16th February, 2011. The who's who of the film music fraternity from all over south India will join Dr. Yesudas and his family in unfurling some of the all time his songs of Yesudas. Surely, this is bound to be entertainment at its best.
Dasettan, who is fondly know as Dr. Jesudas, always stepped back from celebrating his Birthday all these years. But last year, his 70th Birthday was celebrated in a unique way in Kerala by supporting more than 200 heat surgeries. Encouraged by the tremendous success of this event, Dasettan now agreed to participate in, the film music program, the proceeds of which will fund several humanitarian service projects under Samarpana-71, including 71 free heart surgeries, 71 free dialysis, 71 free eye surgeries, etc., valued at over Rs. 300 lakhs, bringing healthcare benefits to hundreds of poor and needy in Karnataka. These projects will be conducted by Rotary Dist. 3190, out of the proceeds of Hridaya Raaga.
To commemorate the 71s birthday, Rotary International Dist 3190, will organize many unique healthcare projects, that include 71 free heart surgeries for children, 71 free surgeries for adults, 71 eye camps to help nearly 1000 free cataract surgeries, 71 general health checkup camps, 71 polio corrective surgeries and many more!! All this at a cost of nearly Rs 300 lakhs and thanks to the innate urge of Dr. Yesudas to help the needy. As he puts it, his simple way of saying thanks for all the love and affection received all these years.
