Proprietor
Velu
of
Lahari
Audio
company
was
kidnapped
by
five
unidentified
persons
in
a
cinematic
way
on
Wednesday
evening.
His
kidnapping
took
place
after
he
left
the
ETV
awards
function
near
Ambedkar
Bhavan,
but
they
dropped
him
in
the
middle
after
he
got
a
phone
call
from
a
police
officer.
Today,
Lahari
Velu
spoke
to
Oneindia
and
explained
how
he
was
kidnapped.
He
said,
"The
incident
happened
after
I
left
the
ETV
awards
function
in
the
middle
to
pursue
an
urgent
work.
As
I
came
out
of
function
hall,
I
was
taken
over
by
five
unidentified
guys,
who
were
waiting
outside.
First,
they
snatched
my
mobile
phone
and
then
dragged
me
into
their
car."
The
Lahari
proprietor
added,
"After
we
crossed
a
little
distance,
I
got
a
phone
call
from
ACP
Ashok.
So
kidnappers
suddenly
woke
up
and
dropped
me
near
Indian
Express
office.
They
had
weapons
with
them.
When
I
asked
them
about
their
identity,
they
revealed
that
they
were
the
associates
of
Shrinivas
Raju,
who
is
a
brother
of
Givndaraju,
a
BJP
corporator
from
Kammanahalli."
However,
the
ETV
awards
function
was
attended
by
many
film
stars
and
other
personalities
including
Puneet
Rajkumar
and
Bangalore
Police
Commissioner
Shankar
Bidari.
The
kidnap
drama
took
place
at
7.30pm.
The
High
Grounds
police
have
registered
a
complaint
and
investigating
into
it.
But
it
is
not
known
why
they
tried
to
kidnap
Velu.
