state
politics
by
winning
the
booth-level
election
today
(Monday,
September
19).
The
Kannada
actress
contested
for
the
state
Youth
Congress
from
booth
number
3
in
Shanthinagar,
which
comes
under
Bangalore
Central
Lok
Sabha
constituency.
The
election
in
about
30,000
booths
is
being
held
in
phases
from
September
16
to
21.
The
fate
of
actress
Ramya
was
sealed
on
September
16.
There
were
only
16
voters
(Youth
Congress
workers)
in
the
booth
and
she
was
successful
in
impressing
them.
The
sandalwood
star
has
won
the
election
by
bagging
eight
votes,
while
her
opponent
named
Shrikanth
got
just
two
votes.
According
to
the
norms
of
the
Congress
party,
each
booth
will
elect
its
president,
vice-president
and
three
general
secretaries.
The
contestant,
who
gets
the
highest
number
of
votes
will
be
the
president
at
the
booth-level.
Those
elected
at
booth-level
can
contest
for
assembly,
Lok
Sabha
and
state
level
committees.
Now,
Ramya
is
qualified
to
contest
for
the
president
of
the
Youth
Congress.
