After the success of Sudeep starrer Kempe Gowda, producer Shankare Gowda is gearing up to release his next movie Shrimathi, which has been delayed for long time. Though the movie had completed its shooting even before the producer started the filming of Kempe Gowda, he had postponed its release and the reason is not clear as to why he delayed it for so long. Now, he is planning to release it for this summer.
Shrimathi is a remake of 2004 Bollywood film Aitraaz, which stars Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra in the leads. The movie is all about a successful businessman, who is leading a happy life with his lovely wife. But his ex-girlfriend walks back into his life and she wants him for her sexual needs. When he rejects her sexual advances, she accuses him of rape. How he saves himself will form the crux of the story.
The Kannada remake of Aitraaz features Real Star Upendra, his wife Priyanka and Celina Jaitley in the leads. Uppi plays a rich businessman and Priyanka essays the role of his wife/advocate, while Bollywood actress Celina Jaitley appears as his ex-girlfriend in Shrimathi. According to sources, the shooting of the film has been completed almost two years ago even before Just Maath Maathalli.
However, Shrimathi is a comedy-cum-family-entertainer and assistant director Sampath Nandi is turning independent director with this movie. Musician Gurukiran has composed the songs, while Johny Lal cranked the camera for the film, which has Rekha Prakash's choreography, Pendyal Krishna"s music, Upendra"s screenplay and dialogues. Bollywood actor Prem Chopra, Sayyaji Shinde and Kota Shrinivasrao are in the other casts. The shooting of a song and a few sequences have been done in the beautiful locations of Maldives.
