Actor
Srinagar
Kitty
a.k.a.
Krishnamurthy
is
all
excited
after
getting
a
big
break
from
his
recent
movies
like
Sanju
Weds
Geetha
and
Hudugru.
The
Kannada
star
has
recently
signed
to
star
in
a
movie,
which
will
be
a
remake
of
late
veteran
director
Puttanna
Kanagal"s
36-year-old
classic
film
Shubha
Mangala.
Director
Srinivas
Raj
approached
Srinagar
Kitty
with
the
idea
of
remaking
the
movie
Shubha
Mangala.
The
Sandalwood
actor
accepted
his
offer
without
a
second
thought.
Talking
to
TOI,
Kitty
says,
“This
is
the
first
time
that
such
a
remake
is
being
proposed
in
Sandalwood
and
I
am
glad
to
be
part
of
it."
Puttanna
Kanagal's
Shubha
Mangala,
which
featured
Shrinath
and
Aarathi
in
the
leads,
was
released
in
1975.
The
movie
was
based
on
writer
Vani's
famous
Kannada
novel
of
the
same
name.
Now
the
remake
will
remain
true
to
the
spirit
of
the
original,
but
will
have
modifications
to
suit
the
taste
of
present
generation.
However,
Bhavana
is
the
heroine
for
Shubha
Mangala
remake,
which
is
slated
to
go
on
the
floors
in
September.
Srinagar
Kitty
and
Srinivas
Raj
have
planned
to
shoot
the
movie
in
UK.
“It
will
be
a
very
modern
film,
which
will
be
shot
in
the
UK,"
the
TOI
quotes
Kitty
as
saying.
