Kannada
actor
Sudeep
had
recently
announced
on
his
Twitter
page
that
he
would
quit
acting.
And
his
sudden
decision
had
made
many
people
in
Gandhi
Nagar
scratch
their
heads
as
to
know
what
he
would
do
after
leaving
acting.
To
the
surprise
of
all
those
people,
here
is
the
answer.
He
is
entering
politics.
Yes!
The
Kicha
himself
has
confirmed
it
in
an
exclusive
interview
with
Times
of
India.
He
will
contest
by-election
from
Davanagere
constituency,
which
will
be
held
in
the
first
week
of
April.
Talking
to
TOI,
Sudeep
has
revealed
his
intentions
behind
entering
politics.
He
says
that
the
present
corrupt
and
unstable
political
scenario
has
made
him
join
politics.
He
condemns
the
present
government
of
Karnataka,
which
has
given
nothing
to
the
people
of
the
state,
but
scams
and
corrupt
governance.
He
adds
that
he
wants
to
drive
the
state
away
from
current
pathetic
situation
and
wants
to
serve
the
common
man.
The
Kempe
Gowda
star
further
says
that
politics
is
not
a
new
field
for
him
because
many
of
his
family
members
are
already
into
it
from
many
years.
He
adds
that
he
has
already
decided
to
contest
by-election
from
Davanagere
constituency
and
he
has
been
invited
by
both
opposition
parties
like
Congress
and
JDS.
But
he
is
yet
to
decide
from
which
party
he
has
to
contest
the
election.
He
has
no
qualms
in
using
his
filmy
image
to
launch
his
political
career.
However,
Sudeep
has
several
projects
like
Kanwarlal,
Production
No.
47,
Kempe
Gowda
sequel,
Lakshyam
remake,
SS
Rajamouli's
Telugu
movie
Eega
along
with
a
few
Bollywood
movies.
But
the
actor
has
made
up
his
mind
that
he
would
fully
concentrate
on
his
political
career.
“I
would
like
to
do
one
thing
at
a
time.
I
have
to
take
up
one
thing
or
the
other
seriously.
If
I
get
into
politics,
working
in
films
will
be
doubtful," the
TOI
quotes
him
as
saying.
