TR Subba Rao's trilogy 'Kambaniya Kuyilu', 'Rakta Ratri' and 'Tirugubana', which portrays the life of Dalavai Muddanna, will be adapted on-screen by ace directors Upendra and Prem. The movie based on Chitradurga's history will see the Real Star in the role of a warrior.

Upendra himself has confirmed the news that he is joining hands with Prem for Dalavai Muddanna. He claims that the talks are in initial stages and nothing has been finalized yet. He is planning to announce the details of the project on his birthday, September 18.

There have been many attempts by Kannada filmmakers to bring the historical character of Dalavai Muddanna on-screen but in vein. Dr. Rajkumar was the first person to receive the offer to act in the film but the late actor refused to star citing the negative role could not go well with his fans.

A few years ago, noted filmmaker TS Nagabharana planned the movie with Prakash Raj in the lead role but later it was dropped for the reasons best known to them. In fact, superstar Rajinikanth had also expressed his wish to act in the film earlier.
