Kali Mutt seer Rishikumar Swamy, who had acted in upcoming film Devrane, has been thrown out of the film after his true face was recently revealed. The makers of the film, who shot his portions a few months ago, has decided to remove his sequences from the film.
Rishikumar Swamy has been actively protesting against controversial godman Swamy Nithyananda. In a sudden turn of events, the former was caught on camera demanding money to buy peace with the latter. After the sting operation conducted by Public TV came on news channels, pro-Kannada groups and social organisation have held state-wide protest against the seer of Kali Mutt.
This has made the makers of Devrane to drop Rishikumar Swamy. According to director Lucky Shankar, he wanted to expose the ill-works done by some seers in his forthcoming movie Devrane for which he need a swami, who could have a clean image. When he was in search, Rishikumar Swamy approached him and asked him to give a role.
Having seen Rishikumar Swamy's oratory skills on news channels, he gave him the chance to act in Devrane and shot his portions. But now that the seer's true face is revealed, he has decided to chop his portion, which was supposed to last for 40 seconds. It may be recalled that the seer had acted in a few Kannada films before turning swamiji.
