Pooja Gandhi takes a plunge into politics, formally joins JD(S)

After Ramya, now Mungaaru Male girl Pooja Gandhi has taken a plunge into politics. The actress on Wednesday (January 18) formally joined Janata Dal(S) by taking membership of the party.

Speaking at the occasion, Pooja Gandhi claimed that it was former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda and his son HD Kumaraswamy who inspired her to join the politics. She thanked the party for giving her a membership and giving an opportunity to serve the society.

The actress recalled that during her film shoots in rural places, people used to remember Kumaranna's schemes and works. Hence, she decided to join the JD(S).

Pooja Gandhi is a Punjabi girl, who shot to fame with the Yogaraj Bhat's blockbuster film Mungaaru Male. Her other successful movies include Taj Mahal, Buddivanta, etc. Currently, she is gearing up for her controversial film Dundupalya.

However, apart from Pooja Gandhi and Ramya, yesteryear actress Jayanthi, Tara and Shruti are the others, who are into politics.
