Five
weeks
after
her
engagement
to
a
realtor,
popular
Kannada
film
heroine
Pooja
Gandhi
called
off
her
wedding
with
her
fiance
on
Wednesday
(December
19).
She
accused
him
for
"ill-treating" her
and
her
family.
Pooja,
who
recently
quit
Janata
Dal
(S)
and
joined
the
newly
launched
Karnataka
Janata
Party
(KJP),
was
in
tears
while
announcing
that
she
has
called
off
her
proposed
marriage
with
Ananda
Gowda,
with
whom
she
exchanged
the
betrothal
ring
on
November
15.
"I
am
in
no
way
responsible
for
break
up.
He
alone
is
responsible.
He
is
a
suspecting
character.
He
suspects
me
and
insults
me," Pooja
said.
"I
tolerated
a
lot.
Tried
to
save
my
relationship
with
him.
But
he
pushed
me
into
mental
depression,"
the
Mungaru
Male
fame
actress
said.
Pooja
rejected
Gowda's
accusations,
who
blamed
her
mother
for
the
current
situation
and
ruled
out
any
rapprochement.
"I
have
returned
the
engagement
ring
on
Wednesday," Pooja,
who
acted
in
nearly
40
films
said.
On
the
other
end,
Anand
said,
"We
have
not
been
seeing
since
three
years.
We
just
came
to
know
each
other
nine
months
ago
through
a
journalist.
When
I
found
that
she
had
special
friendship
with
a
boy,
we
had
temporarily
parted
ways
a
few
months
ago.
But
we
sorted
out
the
differences
and
came
together."
He
continues,
"I
blame
her
mother
for
all
these
mess.
She
made
a
nasty
remark
on
my
colour
and
made
a
loose
statement
on
our
eating
habits.
She
also
had
too
many
demands,
as
she
was
not
happy
with
the
relationship.
Though
my
family
had
opposed
marrying
an
actress,
love
made
me
blind.
I
don't
point
finger
at
Pooja
for
this
break
up
but
her
mom."
