Bangalore: Shivaraj Kumar's Shiva has done a remarkable business at the Sandalwood Box Office in the opening weekend. The movie, which was released in 225 screens in Karnataka, has collected more than Rs 4.5 crore in the first weekend.

A source close to the production house said, "Response for Shiva is massive throughout Karnataka. Almost all theatres ran for packed houses in the state. It has approximately collected Rs 4.5 crore and the nett collections were somewhere around Rs 4 crore." It is said to be one of the highest collected movies of the year.

The occupancy for the single screens for Shiva in Bangalore is approximately 100% and around 85% at multiplexes in the first weekend, adds a source. However, the dream run is expected to continue for a couple of days due to hardcore Shivanna fans but it is to be seen whether the movie has the ability to pull the crowd after the first week.

Shiva, directed by Om Prakash Rao and produced by KP Srikanth, stars Shivaraj Kumar-Ragini Dwivedi in the leads.
