Shivaraj Kumar's much-hyped Shiva has opened up to mixed reviews from critics but the movie has got a flying start at the Box Office. The fans of Hat-trick Hero celebrated the first show by doing abhisheka to Lord Shiva, the one which is in the climax, statute placed at Santhosh theatres, Majestic, Bangalore gave a grand welcome to the movie.
Reports emerging from traders say that Shiva has got an overwhelming response from all across the state. In Bangalore, the story was no different, as it ran packed houses in almost all theatres. It is interesting to note that it witnessed an average of 85% occupancy in multiplexes on the opening day. If the traders' prediction on the collections are to be believed, it will set a new record for record-breaking collections on the first day.
It the recent times, Puneet Rajkumar's Anna Bond, Upendra's Katari Veera Surasundarangi, Pooja Gandhi's Dandupalya and Darshan's Chingari have got dream openings on day one. However, Shiva was released in massive 225 screens in Karnataka alone. It has broken the record in terms of screens. It is also released in over 10 screens in the border regions of Karnataka. The makers of the film are planning to release it in other states in the next week.
Shiva is directed by Om Prakash Rao and stars Shivaraj Kumar and Ragini Dwivedi in the leads.
