Soorappa Babu tenders apology to Darshan family over controversial video

Soorappa Babu has been caught in a video which shows the producer insulting the late actor Toogudeepa Srinivas, the father of Challenging Star Darshan. In an inebriated condition, he used cheap words to criticise Srinivas for which he has tendered an apology.

The controversial video has been uploaded on YouTube by an unknown person. It is said that he made this statement three years ago, where he was seen talking with a person named Neelakanta. Soorappa Babu was in drunken state while making the statement and it happened in Sandesh Prince hotel in Mysore during the making of Puneet Rajkumar's Prithivi.

Reacting to this, Soorappa Babu said, "I sincerely apologise to the family of Darshan, but I am shocked with the time of its arrival. I believe it happened some three years ago and now it is raking in a controversy which has surprised me."

"It is a conspiracy against me and I suspect distributor N Kumar's hand in the controversy. Nonetheless, I will meet the Darshan family and apologise for my mistake," concludes Soorappa Babu. (Click the image to watch the video)

On the other end, Dinakar Togudeep, the brother of Darshan, said, "His statement against my father is not worth replying, as he does not have any credibility to talk about my father. We should ban this kind of publicity mongers from Kannada film industry because they do not have any respect towards senior actors."
