SS Rajamouli sets his eyes on Vijayanagara Empire

Maverick filmmaker SS Rajamouli's films have often done good business in Karnataka. With his next film with Sandalwood superstar Sudeep, the director, who was in Bangalore recently for the promotions of forthcoming movie Eega, hopes that the latest flick would become a much bigger hit than his earlier films and also opened up on his plans on making a Kannada film.

Speaking at the occasion, SS Rajamouli said that he had a long-time dream of bringing the Vijayanagar glory on-screen. He has been thinking about the subject since a few years now and wants to do the film on Sri Krishnadevaraya's incredible rule. He believes that the empire has been a symbol of cultural and emotional link of Kannadigas and Andrites. However, he did not reveal when the project is likely to happen. The press meet was attended by Ravichandran, Darshan, producer D Suresh Babu, MM Keeravani, Munirathna and others.

SS Rajamouli directorial Eega starring Sudeep, Samantha and Nani will hit the screens worldwide on July 6 in Telugu, Tamil (Naan ee) and Malayalam (Eecha) but in Karnataka, it is releasing without subtitles. The socio-fantasy film is a live action film that has an animated character, played by Kicha, ‘House Fly' in the title role.
