There
were
times
when
successful
big-budget
films
of
A-list
actors
from
other
languages
were
being
remade
in
Kannada.
But
now,
the
trend
seems
to
be
changing,
as
our
filmmakers
have
started
eyeing
small
films
with
good
content.
We
witnessed
Hudugaru,
which
was
a
remake
of
Tamil
film
Naadodigal,
last
year.
Presently,
Porali,
Kadhal
and
Kalavani,
which
are
all
low-budget
films,
are
being
remade
in
Kannada.
The
latest
to
join
in
Pizza,
which
has
become
a
sleeper-hit
in
Kollywood.
Director
Prashanth
Raj
of
Love
Guru
fame
has
acquired
the
Kannada
rights
of
Pizza.
As
per
the
reports,
the
rights
cost
Rs
35
lakhs.
However,
the
cast
and
crew
are
yet
to
be
picked
but
the
director
has
claimed
that
the
story
will
be
modified
to
suit
the
taste
of
the
local
audience.
However,
Pizza
is
a
thriller
flick
directed
by
Karthik
Subbaraj.
It
starred
Vijay
Sethupati
and
Remya
Nambeesan,
and
it
was
produced
by
CV
Kumar.
The
film
tells
the
story
of
a
pizza
delivery
boy,
who
lands
in
a
trouble
when
he
visits
a
customer's
house
to
deliver
pizza.
Meanwhile,
the
Telugu
rights
have
been
also
sold
to
a
leading
producer
for
Rs
72
lakhs.
