Veena Malik set to get dirty in Silk Smitha's biopic in Kannada

Pakistani actress Veena Malik, who shocked the nation when her topless pics appeared on a magazine, will be soon entering Kannada film industry. The controversial girl will be starring in the biopic of late sex siren Silk Smitha.

It may be recalled that there were reports of Nikita, Charmy Kaur and Pooja Gandhi being approached to play the lead role in the remake of The Dirty Picture, which was inspired by Silk Smitha's lifestyle. However, they reportedly rejected the offers, as they were not ready to do bold acts. Hence, now producer Venkatappa has signed Veena Malik for Dirty Picture: Silk Sakkath Maga.

According to him, Dirty Picture: Silk Sakkath Maga is not a remake of Vidya Balan's The Dirty Picture. He claims that producer Ekta Kapoor did not take permission from the yesteryear actress' family when they made the Bollywood film. As a result, Venkatappa is also not keen to get the remake rights, as the Kannada film will have a different take on Silk.

However, during her heydays, Silk Smitha shared screen-space with top actors of Kannada like Vishnuvardhan, Shankar Nag, Ambareesh, Ravichandran, etc.
