Akshay Kumar's Special 26 In Kannada; Upendra To Star?

Real Star Upendra, who is busy with multiple projects, seems to be getting ready to give green signal for yet another film. According to reports, Uppi is in talks to star in the remake of superhit Hindi movie Special 26.

Director Naganna, who is still basking in the success of historical Kranthiveera Sangolli Rayanna, is keen on remaking Special 26 in Kannada. The director has approached the actor and they had a formal discussion about the remake recently.

But it is said that the price for the Kannada rights is very high, which is delaying the plans. However, there are strong chances of Naganna's trusted producer acquiring the rights. The details about the same is expected to be announced soon.

Special 26 starred Akshay Kumar, Anupam Kher, Kajal Aggarwal, Manoj Bajpai and Jimmy Shergill in the lead roles. The film was directed by Neeraj Pandey.

The movie is inspired by a real-life heist on March 19, 1987, where a group posing as CBI officers executed an income tax raid on the Opera House branch of Tribhovandas Bhimji Zaveri in Mumbai.
