Bigg Boss Kannada was kicked off with a huge expectations. It was the second reality show after Kannadada Kotyadipati, the Kannada version of Kaun Banega Crorepathi, to be adapted from the Bollywood. The show was directly pitted against the Puneet Rajkumar hosted game show and people claimed that it was a battle between the two stars to prove their supremacy over their popularity. However, it was proved in the later days that it was not about the two individuals, but about the content, which makes audience stick to a particular show/channel.
After 90 odd days, Bigg Boss Kannada is ready to wrap up its first edition. The opening edition has been overwhelmingly welcomed by audience as the show has surpassed Kannadada Kotyadipati to become the number one reality show of the season. The Sudeep's show beat the popularity of Kannadada Kotyadhipati with 4.7 TRP rating and as many as 47,000 votes for individual contestants. The TRP ratings of the show are much higher. On an average, the show delivers a TRP of 4.7 per week, according to TAM research.
Bigg Boss choosed 12 contestants from varied fields. Be it the roping in of godman Narendra Babu or controversial Nurse Jayalaksmi, who garnered public attention when the sex scandal with an ex-minister broke out, the show organisers have not left any stone unturned to bring in the perfect faces, who could draw the public attention. They also signed Vijay Raghavendra, Aparna, Chandrika, Arun Sagar,Sanjjanna Galrani, Nikita Thukral, Vinayak Joshi, Thilak, Anushree and Shweta Pandit from the film industry. Not to forget, some popular names like Rishi Kumara Swamiji, Rishika Singh, Rohan Gowda and Rajesh of Halli Huduga Pyatege Banda fame were also part of the show.
The Right Choice
The Bigg Boss' choice of candidates have turned out to be good as all the inmates have managed to impress a certain section of audience. People have liked or hated the contestants, but they have not ignored, which has turned out to be a blessing for the show.
Aparna, Chandrika, Nurse Jayalakshmi, Sanjjanna Galrani, Vinayak Joshi, Thilak, Rishika Singh, Anushree, Rohan Gowda, Rajesh and Shweta Pandit have participated in the show, but have failed to stay till the last stage.
The Battle Of Four
Now the competition is between Narendra Babu Sharma, Arun Sagar, Vijay Raghavendra and Nikita Thukral. All four have played well and have won the hearts of the audience.
Narendra Babu Sharma
People love Narendra Babu Sharma's innocent nature. His naughty yelling and his sense of humour have impressed them. He enjoys the support of family audience and his followers. As a result, despite getting votes for the elimination on numerous occasions from the inmates, he has been saved by audience.
Arun Sagar is the only contestant, who has been actively participating in all the tasks given by Bigg Boss. His energetic approach, his multifaceted talent and his good comedy timings make him a strong contender.
Vijay Raghavendra is billed as the most sincere and good human being in the Bigg Boss house. His kind nature and his participation in all the tasks have impressed female audience. Especially, his weeping in the house thinking about his family has become a big hit among woman audience. But what turned out to be plus seems to be minus, as there are some section of audience who think that he is a boring candidate to some extent.
Nikita Thukral, in spite of being in fights with Chandrika on a regular basis, has survived till the last with her strong character. Indeed, she has played the game well and has silenced her critics, who tried to bring her down by pointing her inability to speak Kannada fluently, by winning people's crucial votes.
The game is perfectly balanced for the viewers to choose one among the four contestants. The winner will walk out with Rs 50 lakhs.
