Actress Uma Shivakumar, who was known with the name as Buddy Bangaramma, passed away on Monday (June 24). She breathed her last at her residence in Chamrajpet, Bangalore.
She was ill for quite some time now and her death has shocked the Kannada film industry, which was recovering from the loss of veteran actor and director Kunigal Nagabhushan. She acted in over 150 films, and the actress would be remembered for her negative and mother-in-law characters.
The actress became popular in the movie Buddy Bangaramma and since then, she was called by the afore-mentioned name. Maduve Maadi Nodu, Haavena Hede, Bhakta Sereyala, Nenapina Neralu and Maneye Mantralaya are some of her popular films. She received a State Award for her performance in Chandanada Gombe.
