For newcomers, Mysore Mallige was a classic film and it is considered as one of the best screen adaptation from a literary work. It was based on the poems of KS Narasimhaswamy and had portrayed rural life and the pre-independence movement.
KS Narasimhaswamy's collection of poems inspired the film Mysore Mallige, which the critics lauded then. The movie, which was made in 1992, had won several awards.
Now, the latest movie coming up with the same title did not go well with a section of people, and TS Nagabharana, who shared his unhappiness over naming the forthcoming film as Mysore Mallige.

"It is about an independent woman, who faces challenges in life. She conveys a strong message to the society," the Times of India quotes Roopa Nataraj as saying.

Mysore Mallige is directed by Oscar Krishna. He has written the story, screenplay and dialogues of the movie. The director says, "Mysore Mallige is about an innocent girl, who faces tough time as she grows up. The film looks into whether a woman in society gets the right share to live or not."
He adds, "It is a good mixture of reality and imagination." The director says, "The film will be shot in Mysore, Madikeri and Bangalore soon."
Mysore Mallige Stars
The film stars Ranjan Shetty of Seeta tele-serial fame and Sri of Amrutavarshini soup fame are starring in male lead roles. However, Roopa Nataraj had earlier worked in the movie Gali.
