Veteran Kannada film critic and actor RG (Rajapura Gopal Rao) Vijayasarathy passed away here Sunday after brief illness, family sources said. He was 63.
Vijayasarathy, who regularly wrote Kannada film reviews and acted in over 100 Kannada films and many tele-serials. On Friday, he watched the latest Kannada release Mynaa, in which he had a role.
Later, he complained of uneasiness and was admitted to a leading private hospital in the city, where he passed away. He is survived by his wife and one daughter. As per sources, his last rites were performed at Harishchandra Ghat.
Vijayasarathy started his acting career in Upendra's Operation Antha and got recognition in Shiva Sainya where he had played the real life role of Election Commissioner TN Seshan. He had worked with big directors like S Narayan, Nagathihalli Chandrashekar and Yogaraj Bhat to name a few.
