Duniya Vijay-Radhika Kumaraswamy Help Shanthamma

Kannada audience have seen veteran actress Shanthamma, who usually plays supporting role (mother or grandmother) in films. The actress made headlines, when she attended the Janatha Darshana Program, which was organised by Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.

Shanthamma, who attended the program, requested Siddaramaiah to help her to give a proper treatment for her children, who are suffering from deadly disease cancer. It is said that the actress is blessed with two children, and both of them are suffering from cancer for which she has spent more than Rs 10 lakhs for the treatment till now.

Shanthamma said, "My two children - Rajendra and Suma are affected by cancer, and my grand son is physically challenged (dumb and deaf). I have spent lot of money for their treatment, so now it's very hard for me to spend. So, I came here to seek the help of Siddarammaiah."

This news, which spread like a wildfire on News channels, alerted Kannada actor Duniya Vijay and actress Radhika Kumaraswamy, who rushed to help Shanthamma. It is reported that Shanthamma requested Siddarammaiah to help her and release some grants from Chief Minister relief fund, which would be very helpful to her.

Suma Is Suffering From Three Years

Shanthamma also added that from past three years her daughter Suma is suffering from cancer, whereas recently her son Rajendra was diagnosed with the same.

Shanthamma Is Healthy

Shanthamma said, "I am very much depressed. By God's grace, I am not having any health hazards, but I am worried about my kids."

Duniya Vijay Sent A Cheque

Duniya Vijay, who was busy with the shooting of his forthcoming movie Shivajinagara, sent a cheque of Rs 50,000, with his assistant to give it Shanthamma.

Shanthamma Is Like My Mother

Duniya Vijay said, "Shanthamma is like my mother. I would have met her personally, but I am not able to make it as I am busy with the shoot. So, I am sending the cheque with my assistant."

Radhika Kumaraswamy's Contribution

Actress Radhika Kumaraswamy, who saw the news, rushed to Shanthamma and gave Rs 1 lakh. She said that she could tolerate Shanthamma crying.

Shanthamma Is Very Kind

Radhika said, "Shanthamma is very soft and kind hearted. I was not able to see her crying, so I came here."

Radhika Is Very Hurt

"There are aged persons in my home too, as an artist I can understand the situation of another artist. I was not able to bare that pain," added Radhika.
