Speaking to leading daily, Sonia said, "I play an actress-turned-politician in Dyaavre, who falls in love with Sathish Neenasam's character. While the actress part was rather easy to play, I took references from Katrina Kaif's role in Raajneeti for the politician bit. My role is a short one, but rather powerful." Dyaavre is all set to hit the silver screen on December 6.

Sonia Gowda also revealed that each and every character in the movie is important, and all of them have performed naturally. "In fact, there was a scene in which an MLA has to slap me and Viji made him slap me for real. He wanted the scene to be realistic and the shot went on for three takes. My cheeks turned red and it hurt. But it was worth it," she added.

Sandalwood's ace director Yogaraj Bhat is making his on-screen debut with movie. It is directed by Gadda Viji, and also has Sathish Neenasam, Sruthi Hariharan, Sonu Gowda and others in the significant roles.
