Kochadaiyaan Rajinikanth In Purandara Dasa's Avatar!
Tamil superstar Rajinikanth will be seen like Purandara Dasa, a prominent composers of Carnatic music, who is widely regarded as the "Grandfather of Carnatic Music'. Not in any of his forthcoming movies, but a portrait of him has been designed by an artist.
Sri Purandara International Trust had planned a ceremony to felicitate Rajinikanth last week at Town Hall in Bangalore. But as the superstar is busy with his next multilingual movie Kochadaiyaan, it was gifted to his close friend Raj Bahadur.
Rajinikanth had asked his close friend to represent him and receive the honours from them to make up for his absence. Superstar Rajini's relative Gopinath Rao also took part in the event.
Ananda Teerthachar, member from the Tirumala Tirupathi Devasthanam Trust, was the chief guest at the event and he honoured Rajini's friend Raj Bahadur. Continue reading the story and also see some of the pictures from the event...

Sri Purandara International Trust is headed by Mohan Kumar and Suvarna Mohan. The trust organised Guru Vandana (Honouring guru) program.

On the occasion, they honoured people, who have contributed to the field of music. They also released Navaratna Malika CDs.
Idea Of Purandara Dasaru Born...
Speaking at the occasion, Mohan Kumar said, "Three years ago, Rajinikanth had come to me in the avatar of Purandara Dasaru at 4 am. I met an artist and expressed the same to him."
Rajini Skips Event Due to Busy Schedule
He continues, "He has come up with a beautiful oil painting of Rajini in the avatar of Purandara Dasaru. I wished that I would present this to the wonderful human Rajini on behalf of us. But he could not attend due to his busy schedule."
Rao Bahadur, Rajini's Close Friend
He concludes, "However, he told me that he would send his close friend to the event. As a result, Rao Bahadur is here with us."
Rajini, A Religious Man
After getting felicitated on behalf of the Tamil superstar, Rao Bahadur said, "Rajinikanth is not just an actor, he is very religious person. I am impressed with the Purandara Dasaru avatar of our superstar and it is a treat to see him in such a way after watching him in colourful outfits."
All Honours To Rajini
He adds, "I'm just representing him and all this honour should go to him. I will send this gifts to him and also I suggest him to do a film on Purandara Dasaru."
RK Srikantan Honoured
At the event, famous musician RK Srikantan was honoured by the trust. Tejaswini Ananth Kumar, the wife of BJP National Secretary Ananth Kumar, was also present, along with Dr Arulu Mallige Parthasarathi.
