Sandalwood's critically acclaimed movie Lucia has completed its 50 days theatrical run. The movie, which got released on September 6, received rave reviews from the critics and audience across the state.
Lucia was also released online, where it attracted the huge number of International audience. The psychological thriller talks about how protagonist suffers from insomnia. How a magic pill called 'Lucia' changes the life of an insomniac once and for all is the crux of the film.
The movie has Sathish Neenasam, Shruthi Hariharan, Hardika Shetty and Achyuth Kumar in the lead cast. It was directed by Pawan Kumar. Lucia was the first crowd-funded movie, which also made Superstar Kamal Hassan to talk about it. Tamil icon was intrigued to know how the crew has managed to involve public in its production.
CV Kumar, who has produced Tamil movies Pizza and Soodhu Kaavum, has owned the remake rights of the movie. He is likely to start the shooting of Tamil and Telugu version of the movie in 2014.
Before the official release in Karnataka, Lucia won the coveted Audience Award at the fourth London Indian Film Festival (LIFF) in July this year. Currently, the movie is screened in Mumbai Film Festival (MFF).

Pawan Kumar had worked with director Yogaraj Bhat in the movies - Pancharangi and Paramathma. He made his directorial debut with the movie Lifeu Ishtene.
