Madarangi is the latest Kannada movie sans superstars in the current year to have reached the 100-day mark. After Gombegala Love, which came in for critical acclaim, Simplag Ondu Love Story and Mynaa, it is the new film to have registered its name in the list.
The movie, which was released on May 10, is one of the sleeper hits of 2013 in Kannada film industry. It completed its 100 days run all across Karnataka recently. The movie has some good songs, which attracted youths initially. Especially, the title track scored by Anoop Selin won the hearts of the audience.
Madarangi got mixed reviews upon release, but the good
word of mouth helped the movie to make good business at Kannada Box
Office. The film stars Krishna, who shot to fame with TV serial
Krishna Rukmini, Sushma Raj and Kavya Shetty, who play the female
leads in the film.
The film also has Naksha Shetty, Sadhu Kokila, Suchendra Prasad, Sharath Lohitashwa, Avinash and Vinayaprasad in the supporting roles. The movie is directed by Mallikarjuna, who made his directorial debut in Auto, and jointly produced by Nandini, Nagappa, Umesh and Sugandh.
