Mother’s Day Special: Beautiful Sandalwood actresses and their children
It is said that God could not be everywhere, so he created mothers.... Absolutely, it's not wrong at all. Mothers are important part of everybody's life. The love and care she gives cannot be given by any other person in the world. Moms perfectly balance personal and professional life, sometimes sacrificing their own happiness for their family.
In South film industry (Sandalwood), actresses get married and it's an end to their career in film industry. While few follow this, few other actresses continue to act even after marriage and having children. There are also chances of their kids entering the industry and following their mother's path.
One such example whose kid entered film industry is Sudha Rani, where her daughter Nidhi debuted in Sandalwood with movie Idu Chakravyuha. While gorgeous actresses like Radhika, Priyanka Upendra continue to work, Rakshita joined politics and is away from industry (acting) for sometime now. Actresses like Malashri, who struggled a lot personally and is mother of two kids and is back in 2012 with Shakti.

Priyanka Upendra
This gorgeous bong beauty, Priyanka Trivedi married actor-director-scriptwriter Upendra on December 14, 2003. She is former Miss Kolkata. Priyanka and Uppi have two kids. The mother of two, Priyanka looks wow even now. Priyanka Upendra will be seen in upcoming film Crazy Star, with Ravichandran. She was last seen with Upendra in Shrimathi.
Radhika Kumarswamy
Radhika revealed about her marriage to former Chief Minister of Karnataka HD Kumaraswamy in November 2010. She is a doting mother of a daughter Shamika. This beautiful mother, has established a production studio named after her daughter - Shamika Enterprises, and Lucky starring Ramya was her first production movie. She will be coming back to silver screen after a long gap as an actress in the movie Sweety Nanna Jodi.
Rakshita Prem
Rakshita debuted in sandalwood with Appu with Puneet Rajkumar. She is married to director Prem, and the couple has a son named Surya. After marriage, Rakshita Prem bid goodbye to acting and started helping hubby in filmmaking. The beautiful mother of one is also a producer of Jogayya, which was directed by her husband Prem. Now, she has joined politics and is BSR party leader.
Sudha Rani
She began her career with modeling in print ads at the age of three. She did many movies and has Filmfare Awards and Karnataka State Film Awards to her credits. Sudha Rani married Dr Sanjay, an anesthesia specialist in 1999. But the marriage did not work, and she got married second time to her relative. The couple has a beautiful daughter Nidhi (born in 2001). The mom and daughter duo were together seen in movie Idu Chakravyuha (2009).
Malashri
The "angry women" faced lots of trouble in her personal life. When she was at her peak of her career her close friend and co-star, whom she wanted to get married, died in an accident. She is currently married to producer Ramu. The couple has a daughter and a son. The mother of two did many movies and her recent movie was Shakti.
Bharathi Vishnuvardhan
Veteran actress Bharathi got married to Legendary actor of Indian Cinema Dr Vishnuvardhan (late) on 27 February 1975. The couple has two children, Keerthi and Chandana. She was seen in many movies after marriage and kids: Preethi Prema Pranaya, Crazy Loka, etc.
Sumalatha Ambareesh
Born and raised in a Telugu family in Chennai, beautiful Sumalata married actor and politician Ambareesh on 8 December 1991. The couple has a son Abishek. Sumalata Ambareesh acted in more than 200 films in Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi. She did few movies after marriage.
Tara
This Politian-Actress married cinematographer HC Venu in 2005. The couple was blessed with a son on 1 February 2013, thanks to IVF. The National Award winning actress, MLC and Chairperson of Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy, has acted in over 50 films.
Ramya Krishnan
This hot actress is married to Telugu film director, Krishna Vamsi. The couple has a son Ritwik. She has done many movies in Kannada and will also be seen in forthcoming Kannada movie Sweety Nanna Jodi, which will be produced by Radhika Kumarswamy.
Juhi Chawla
Bubbly Juhi debuted in Kannada classic Premaloka, which was directed by Ravichandran in 1987 and her career in Sadalwood was on high. Juhi is married to industrialist Jay Mehta and the couple has two children: daughter Jahanvi and son Arjun. She and her hubby are co-owner of Indian Premier League team Kolkata Knight Riders in partnership with Shahrukh Khan. Though she isn't seen in Sandalwood now, she will be seen in upcoming Bollywood movie Gulaab Gang which also stars Madhuri Dixit.
Khushboo
Khushboo is married to director Sundar C. The couple has two daughters, Avanthika and Ananditha. They have also named their production house after their children. She had acted in few Kannada films, Ranadheera, Anjada Gandu and Shanti Kranti with Ravichandran; Jeevanadi etc... Though now she has no work in Sandalwood, she is busy in her political works.
Madhoo
This beautiful actress is named after late Hindi actress Madhubala. Madhoo did a movie Annayya with Ravichandran in Kannada and shot to fame in this industry. She is married to Anand Shah on 19 February 1999. The couple is blessed with two daughters Ameyaa and Keia.
Meena
Meena married Vidyasagar, a Bangalore-based Software Engineer, on 12 July 2009. The couple has a daughter Nainika, who was born on 1 January 2011. Meena has done few Kannada films like Putnanja with Ravichandran, My Autograph with Sudeep, etc.
Shilpa Shetty
This gorgeous Mangalore beauty got married to Raj Kundra on 22 November 2009. The couple was blessed with a son Viaan Raj Kundra on 21 May 2012. She did few movies in Kannada like, Auto Shankar with Upendra, Preethsod Thappa with Ravichandran, etc. Though the actress is not having any projects in Sandalwood, the mother of one is busy with IPL matches (Shilpa is owner of the IPL cricket team Rajasthan Royals).
