IIFA 14th edition was held recently and it was attended by bigwigs of Hindi, Tamil and Telugu film industries. The three-day event witnessed stars from Bollywood like Shahrukh Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, and from South, actors like Kamal Hassan and Chiranjeevi. But Kannada audience were disappointed because no big stars from Sandalwood were part of the mega-film event.
The good news is that there were some stars, who had worked before in Kannada films and presently part of Bollywood and other industries, attended the glamorous event. Well, before knowing who else were part of the function, let us have a look at the list of winners, who won major awards.
Anurag Basu's movie Barfi emerged as the clear winner, sweeping the maximum of 14 awards by defeating Vicky Donor, Gangs Of Wasseypur and many more at IIFA, 2013.
Ranbir Kapoor won the Best Actor (Male) award for his amazing performance in Barfi.
Anurag Basu's Barfi won the Best Film award.
Vidya Balan got the Best Actor (female) award for her performance in Kahaani.
Anurag Basu received the Best Director's trophy for Barfi.
Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone won the Best Pair award at IIFA.
Gauri Shinde won the award for Best Debut Director for English Vinglish.
Pritam won the Best Music Director award for Barfi.
Dancing sensation Prabhu Deva is not restricted to South films anymore. He not only choreographs Hindi songs, but also directs Bollywood movies. He had earlier acted in Upendra's H20.
Yesteryear sensational actress Sridevi Kapoor was the biggest star of her times. She made it big in South films before ruling the Bollywood. She had acted in a few Kannada movies including Dr Rajkumar's classic Bhakta Kumbara.
Deepika Padukone, one of the top actors of Bollywood, started her acting in Kannada films. She made her debut in Upendra starrer Aishwarya.
Yami Gautham started her acting career in Sandalwood. She made her debut in Ullasa Utsaha starring Golden Star Ganesh. She won Best Debut Female award for Vicky Donor.
South actor Kamal Hassan had worked in quite a lot of Kannada films. He was last seen in Ramesh Aravind's directorial Rama Shama Bhama.
