According to the sources, 'Sarva Shiksha Abhiyaan,' which creates awareness about the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education (RTE) act, has not reached all the corners of the state. So, the Karnataka State Education Department has decided to launch a campaign consisting of videos and print ads, featuring Puneet and Radhika.
Talking to a leading daily, the actor who was dressed up in Khadi Kurtha, for the shooting of the ad, said, "We want to raise awareness about the Act and hope that this campaign will help to increase the enrolments in schools."
Puneet also said that he needs to learn a lot about the act, and thanked Education department for giving him this opportunity. The shooting was held at the Kuvempu Centenary Model Government Primary school, Ullal Upanagar, Bangalore.
"Through the film I want to spread a message and urge parents to immediately enrol their children to the neighbourhood school," Puneet added. The actor is also the brand ambassador of Karnataka Milk Federation's (KMF) product Nandini Milk.
