Kannada actor Upendra, who is well known as superstar and real star in Kannada industry, celebrated his 45th birthday, yesterday (Sep 18), in Palace grounds, Bangalore. The event was graced by famous Kannada stars like Shivraj Kumar, Ravichandran, Puneeth Rajkumar, Jagesh and others.
The blissful event was kick started by a dance performance, which was given by Upendra's Children Ayush and Aishwarya. The organising committee was headed by the actor's wife Priyanka Upendra, who welcomed all the guests. Anushree of Kannda Bigg Boss fame, and Dileep Raj hosted the event.
The young sizzling actresses like Sanjjanaa, Harshika Poonacha and Bhavana Rao shook legs for the Uppi's famous songs. The rough cut of Uppi 2 teaser was screened in the event, which made the audience curious to know more about the movie.
Upendra and Shivraj Kumar's dance for the number 'Ollu bari ollu,' became the main highlight of the event. The actors also shared their sweet memories and their close bond from the day they did the movie Om. Uppi proudly said, "Om is the movie that gave me an identity in Kannada industry and took me to heights."
Actor Jaggesh, who was the lead actor in Upendra's directorial venture Tarle Nan Maga, thanked Uppi for giving him an oppurtunity in the movie. He also said that it was the movie that gave him a break as an actor.

The actor launched his home production, which is named as 'Upendra Production.' Thousands of Uppi's fans witnessed the event. Uppi 2 is the first movie that will be made under the banner.
Kashinath, who is Upendra's guru (teacher) in Kannada film industry also graced the event. He said, "I am very happy with Uppi's growth as a superstar today, I taught him little, but he has learnt a lot." Upendra was very humble to his guru on stage.
Homage To Dr.Vishnuvardhan
In spite of the joy, the organisers did not forget to pay homage for Kannada veteran actor Dr Vishnuvardhan, whose birthday was also on the same day. Actor Anirudh graced the event on behalf of Vishnu's family and wished birthday boy, Uppi.
A non-profit organisation, which is named as 'Uppi Foundation' was also launched in the event. The famous Kannada stars, who were present in the event, joined the inauguration and assured their support for the organisation.
Purpose Of Uppi Foundation
Uppi Foundation will be working for a social cause and helps the girls, who will be dropped out of their schooling in their early age.
Kiran Mazumdar Shaw
Biocon chief Kiran Mazumdar Shaw, who is a close pal of Priyanka Upendra, was present in the event and wished Upendra and Uppi foundation.
Veteran Actors Of Kannada
The event was also graced by the Kannada veteran actresses like Jayanthi, Jayamala and Hema Chowdary. They all blessed Uppi and assured their support for the upcoming programs that will take place from Uppi foundation.
