Vijay Raghavendra's directorial debut Kismat has got a new entry in the star cast. The actor turned director has roped in newbie Sangeetha Bhat to play the female lead in his movie, which is the remake of Tamil-Malayalam bilingual Neeram.
Vijay Raghavendra, who has changed his screen name as Chinnari Mutha Vijay, has confirmed the news to a leading daily. He said that he wanted a Kannada-speaking girl for the role. Vijay said, "I wanted a Kannada-speaking girl for Nazriya's role and I thought Sangeetha, who appears to be a mature actor will suit the role best."
Sangeetha Bhat is presently busy with the shooting of Maamu Tea Angadi and Preethi Geethi Ithyadi. The muhurtha of Kismat is on November 18, in Nanditheertha Temple Malleswaram. It will be graced by Shivaraj Kumar, producer SA Chinne Gowda, KFCC president Gangaraju and others.
Talking about his directorial venture Vijay Raghavendra said, "Turning director wasn't a conscious decision. After watching Neram, I was very impressed with the film, so much so that I thought I will try my hands at direction. As always, this is not going to be a direct remake. I will take the concept and present it to suit our Kannada audience."
