Chennai Express will have the biggest ever release in India and overseas. The film is expected to release in 4,200 screens worldwide. In Karnataka, the Hindi movie will have a huge release. On the other end, much-hyped Tony is releasing in over 125 screens on August 9 in Karnataka.
A trader said, "Karnataka has always been a good market for Bollywood movies. Especially, A-list actors films does good business here. In Bangalore, Hindi films have done well considering the cosmopolitan atmosphere."

On asking whether Chennai Express release will affect Srinagar Kitty's Tony, he said, "Getting theatres for the local movies during the festive time has been a difficult part for Kannada movie."

Tony Faces The Heat Of Chennai Express
"Chennai Express release will definitely affect Tony. But it will be restricted to multiplexes and single screens in Bangalore," claims the industry insider.
According to traders, Tony could face problems in the first week, but number of theatres are likely to be increased in the following weeks.
Tony is a mega-budget project directed by Jayatheertha. The film features Aindrita Ray in the female lead role.
On the other end, Chennai Express is directed by Rohit Shetty. It stars Shahrukh Khan and Deepika Padukone in the leads.
