It's a known fact that the anchor Sheetal Shetty is making her on-screen debut with Sandalwood's forthcoming movie Ulidavaru Kandanthe. The actress became famous in Karnataka as a news reader in TV9 with her unique style of presenting the news. She took a break from anchoring for the shooting of the movie.
Amidst her busy schedule, Sheetal spoke to Oneindia and cleared that she will not leave Journalism and will be a TV anchor for ever. The actress was busy shooting Ulidavaru Kandanthe, which is directed by Rakshith Shetty of Simple Aag Ond Love Story fame. Apart from Sheetal, the movie also features director Rakshith Shetty, Kishore, Yagna Shetty, Achyuth Kumar, Tara Anuradha, Rishab Shetty and others in the important roles.
Talking about her on-screen debut, Sheetal said that it is a lifetime opportunity for her, "It was not even my dream to become an actress. Still I am not able to believe this. It was completely unexpected," she added.
When compared to anchoring, Sheetal felt acting difficult. She said, "I have handled the live programs and also experienced in anchoring. But, acting is new for me, and for first few days I found it difficult."

It's A New Experience For Sheetal
Sheetal said, "Cinema is totally a new experience for me. The team is just awesome, they are dedicated and hard working and I really love to work with the team."
Sheetal Playing The Role Of Journalist
Talking about her role in Ulidavaru Kandanthe, Sheetal said that she is essaying the role of a journalist in the movie. "I play the role of journalist in the movie, it is the same what I was doing in studio. In studio I used to handle breaking news and bulletins, but here it is script," she quoted.
Sheetal First In Her Family To Face Camera
"I am the first person from my family to face the camera. I don't even have any experience in theatres, but I was taking part in skits in my college days," Sheetal added.
"I didn't even think of becoming an actress, so I am not influenced by anyone. But, I like Ramya, Kalpana, Bharathi in Kannada, and Sridevi and Madhuri Dixit in Bollywood. I look up to them to know more about acting," Sheetal said.
Sheetal Choosy In Selecting Roles
Sheetal said that she will be very cautious in choosing the role in future. She said, "Now, I am working with a nice team. I am not keen towards acting. If I find it interesting, I will go ahead, but will be very choosy."
Time For Experimental Movies
Sheetal said that it is the time for experimental movies in Kannada. "I am very happy that there are creative movie makers in Sandalwood. Movies like Lucia and Jatta are taking Kannada movies to International level," she added.
Journalism Is Evergreen
Sheetal said, "Journalism is an evergreen field, I am still sharing my experience in my blog. The bond with Journalism will not vanish so easily."
Sheetal Is An Anchor For Ever
When quizzed Sheetal about whether she will return to anchoring on TV9 after this movie, she said, "No doubt, TV is nothing but my God, and also I will be an anchor for ever."
