Priyamani is on a roll. The multilingual actress had impressed the audience with her performance in Kannada movie Charulatha and it has been appreciated at various award functions. The latest stage where she was honoured is at SIIMA (South Indian International Movie Awards), as she bagged the Best Actress Award.
The multilingual actress won the Best Actress Award at the second SIIMA Awards. The event was held at the Expo Centre Sharjah on September 12 and 13. The function was attended not only by Kannada stalwarts, but also by some of the big names of Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Bollywood film industries. While Priyamani won the Best Actor (Female), Century Star Shivaraj Kumar was honoured with Best Actor Award.
Priyamani's Charulatha was simultaneously made in Kannada and Tamil. Upon release, the movie was opened up to mixed reviews. The movie failed to keep the cash registers ringing at the Kannada Box Office. But the performance of the actress, who had played the role of a conjoined twins, was widely appreciated. The multilingual flick was directed by P Kumar of Only Vishnuvardhana fame. It was produced by well-known cinema personality Dwarakeesh.
