Tamil superstar Silambarasan aka Simbu, who was all set to play the lead role in the Tamil remake of Sandalwood's comedy drama Govindaya Namaha, has said that he will not be doing the movie. The movie was likely to be directed by Pawan Wodeyar.
Govindaya Namaha, which featured Komal, Parul Yadav, Madhulika and Rekha in the lead roles, was in high demand for the remakes. The remake rights of the movie was owned by L Sridhar, who initially said that Simbu will act in the Tamil remake of the movie.
Simbu, who confirmed the news to a leading daily, said that he will not be doing the movie. "No, I am not doing the film and I haven't even seen the film yet. Moreover, I have no dates for a while as well."
Govindaya Namaha was recently remade in Telugu as Potugadu. Like the original movie, the Tollywood version too has become a hit, which paved way for the Tamil remake. Both Kannada and Telugu versions were directed by Pawan Wodeyar.
Simbu, who was impressed with the storyline, had crooned the track 'Bujji pilla' in Potugadu. It featured Manchu Manoj Kumar, Sakshi Chodhary, Simran Kaur and Rachel in the key roles.

New Director For Tamil Version
L Sridhar is searching for a new director and actor for the Tamil version due to unavailability of Simbu and director Pawan Wodeyar.
Tamil director Cheran had initially expressed his wish to direct the movie. It is said that he was impressed when he watched Govindaya Namaha.

Hansika Motwani played the female lead in Kannada movie Bindaas. The movie had Puneet Rajkumar in the lead role, and it was directed by Late director D Rajendra Babu.

Kannada actor Aditya is making his Kollywood debut with the movie. He is all set to lock horns with Simbu in Vaalu.
Simbu In Mirchi Remake
Simbu will also be playing the lead role in Tamil remake of Telugu movie Mirchi, which is presently being remade in Kannada by director-actor Sudeep.
