The most wanted actor of Sandalwood, Kiccha Sudeep turns 40 birthday today (September 2). The multi-talented actor is always in news be it for his Blockbuster movies Bachchan or Eega, or his recent television reality show Kannada Bigg Boss.
Sudeep hails from Shimoga. His father M Sanjeev, who is a Hotelier, is from Narasimharajapura. His mother Saroja is from Udupi. Sudeep did his early education from Vasavi Vidyalaya School, Shimoga, and was a student of mechanical engineering from Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering. Sudeep is married to Priya and has a daughter Saanvi.
Sudeep started his acting with a TV serial Premada Kadambari. Then he entered into films by doing supporting roles and finally did a full-fledged role as an actor in Sparsha. Not only in acting, he has proved himself in all the sections - direction, production, scriptwriter and playback singer. He debuted in television with a reality show Pyate Hudgeer-Halli Lifu as Judge, Main Anchor and Guide. Not to forget, the recent success of his other show Bigg Boss which was telecast in ETV Kannada.
The actor is not only famous in Sandalwood but also well known celebrity in Tollywood because of the Blockbuster movie Eega, which was even dubbed in Kollywood as Naan Ee. He has also done few movies in Bollywood too. Not only this, Sudeep was voted Bangalore Times' Most Desirable Man 2012.
Sudeep bagged 'Best actor' awards in Filmfare for three consecutive years (2001-2003). He was also awarded the Entertainer Of The Year and Best Actor for his movie Vishnuvardhana.

Sudeep's Acting Career
Sudeep started his journey of acting from small screen - Television. He debuted with television serial Premada Kadambari, which was aired on Udaya TV. He had to face problem when he wanted to enter big screen as his first two films O Kusuma Bale and Brahma were abandoned mid-filming.
Full-Fledged Role In Sparsha
His first movie was Thaayavva and then he did a supporting role in Prathyartha. It was Sparsha which got him recognition. He was seen in full fledged role in this movie alongside Rekha and Sudha Rani. Sudeep bagged two awards - Asianet Award Best Newcomer Actor and Videocon-Suprabhata Award Best Newcomer Actor.
Few of his notable movies are Huccha, where he was very much appreciated for his performance. He was seen opposite Rekha Vedavyas in the movie. He won Filmfare Award for Best Actor for this movie. In Vaalee, he played duel role, where he was paired opposite Poonam. This movie showed his good and bad side, audience loved his performance in both roles. In Nandhi, he was seen alongside Sindhu Menon and Radhika Chaudhari. This movie got him Filmfare Award for Best Actor and Karnataka State Film Award for Best Actor. Swathi Muthu, which starred Sudeep and Meena in the lead roles, won him Filmfare Award for Best Actor.

In My Autograph, Kiccha Sudeep was paired with Sridevika and Deepu. This was his directorial debut. Mussanje Maathu had Ramya alongside Sudeep. He was nominated for Best Actor (Filmfare) for the same. The movie was also remade in Bengali as Achena Prem. For Kempe Gowda, Sudeep was nominated for SIIMA and Filmfare for Best Actor Award, while for Veera Madakari the actor won Suvarna Film Award Favorite Hero. Both movies had Ragini Dwivedi. Just Math Mathalli had Ramya along with Sudeep, and he was nominated for Best Actor (Filmfare). His recent movie Bachchan had Bhavana opposite Sudeep, which also did well at the Box Office.
He also made guest appearances in Ganesh starrer Thuntata, Mayur Patel starrer Gunna and Dyan starrer Jackpot. He also made cameo roles in movies like Meghave Meghave, Aithalakkadi and Police Story 3.
Sudeep In Bollywood/Tollywood/Kollywood
Not only in Sandalwood, Sudeep was also seen playing main lead in other language movies. He was seen in Ram Gopal Verma's Raan, Phoonk, Rakht Charitra 1 and 2. Rakht Charitra was released in three different languages. Telugu (Rakta Charitra) and Hindi (Rakhta Charitra) versions were released in two parts, six weeks apart, while the Tamil version was released as a single film titled Ratha Sarithiram. Sudeep was also seen in Milind Gadagkar's Phoonk 2. The movie was also dubbed in Tamil as Bommai 2 and in Telugu as Aavaham.
It was SS Rajamouli's Eega which made him the Most Wanted Hero in other industries. The movie was superhit and it was dubbed in Tamil as Naan Ee, also in Malayalam as Eecha. The film was also dubbed in Hindi as Makkhi.
Sudeep As Director
My Autograph was Sudeep's directoral debut. Then he did No 73, Shanthi Nivasa which starred Anu Prabhakar and Deepa alongside Sudeep. The movie made average business. Just Math Mathalli got rave reviews and was average hit at Box Office. Veera Madakari and Kempe Gowda which starred Ragini Dwivedi opposite Sudeep were Blockbusters.
Sudeep As Producer
My Autograph, produced by Sudeep, was remake of Tamil superhit Autograph. The movie's songs were popular. The movie starred Meena, Sridevika and Deepu alongside Sudeep.
Sudeep As Playback Singer
Apart from acting, directing and producing, Sudeep also was successful singer. He sang for many of his movies. For Vaale, he sang 'O Sona O Sona', which is very popular even now. Also 'Vasantha Maasadalli' for the same film. He sang, 'Sontada vishya' (Chandu), 'Dove dove dove dove duniya kano' (Ranga SSLC), ''Machcha dove hodiyodu' (Nalla), 'Ondu olle katheya heluve (No 73, Shaanthi Nivaasa), 'Jinta ta chita chita' (Veera Madakari), 'Hale radio' (Kempe Gowda) and 'Onchuru baggi maathaadu' (Bachchan).

He was paired with many actresses like Meena, Bhavana, Rakshita, Ragini, but his most successful pair was with Ramya. His fans loved this pair. They were seen together in movies like Ranga SSLC, Kiccha Huccha, Mussanje Maathu and Just Maath Maathalli.
Sudeep debuted with television serial Premada Kadambari, which was aired on Udaya TV. Then he was seen in Asianet Suvarna's reality show Pyate Hudgeer-Halli Lifu as a mentor. He was signed as Brand Ambassador of Joyalukkas Jewellery, a famous Jewellery Retail Chain spread Across the Globe. Speaking about the deal and brand, Sudeep was quoted as saying, "This is a first for me too, I have never endorsed a brand before and I feel it is a privilege to start with a brand like Joyalukkas.
Sudeep is a University Cricket player. He is the captain of Karnataka Bulldozers (owned by Ashok Kheny) in Celebrity Cricket League. Karnataka Bulldozers, who won the CCL trophy was treated by Sudeep. The actor apparently took the team on a Bangkok trip.
Friends: Darshan and Arun Sagar
It is said that Darshan and Arun Sagar are very close to Sudeep. Even though Darshan and Sudeep face competition in the industry, they are seen as best buddies. Recently, when Darshan's BulBul got released, Sudeep had wished him luck and they were seen complementing each other on Twitter. They even have similar likes; they have a liking for automobile. Both own Harley Davidson bikes. It was even said that Sudeep was planning to direct Darshan, post Bachchan.
How can we forget the latest controversy! The Bigg Boss host is also close to the Arun Sagar (who was one of the final contestant). It was said that Sudeep was favouring his close friend Arun Sagar and wanted him to win the Bigg Boss.
