Diamond Star Srinagar Kitty's second home production Tony is all set for the release on August 9. The movie, which features Aindrita Ray in the female lead role, is made with the budget of Rs 4.50 crore. It is releasing in over 125 screens.
Tony is directed by Jayatheertha of Olave
Mandhara fame. Srinagar Kitty, though being busy with the
promotions of the movie, made some time to speak to the Oneindia.
Here are the excerpts from the interview:
Is There Any Commonality Between Ambareesh-Lakshmi's
1980s Tony And Your latest movie?
Ambareesh had produced and starred in the 80s movie and I have starred and produced my latest movie Tony. The afore-mentioned factor and the title are only common things between the two movies.
Tony Has Two Music Directors And Nine
There are five full-length songs. The remaining are played in bits and pieces, which are folk songs. Tony, at parts, portrays the richness of our culture, folks and villages. Hence, we have used those bits in the movie to have a better impact.
Raghu Dixit has crooned a song and has acted in the same. Sadhu Kokila has composed the number. V Harikrishna has scored music for one song. Three music composers have worked in Tony and songs are getting good response from audience. I believe songs are like an invitation for people to watch the movie and I hope the tracks in our movie have reached to the maximum.
Working With Jayatheertha...
Jayatheertha was clear about what he is going to make. What I
liked in him is the way he adopted human values to Tony
even though it is a commercial movie. He has not made an art movie
rather it is an experimental flick. He has chosen a subject, which
has not attempted by anyone in Sandalwood. All I can say is that we
had a good working experience.
The story has been penned keeping a mafia background, which is
active in cosmopolitan city. It is about a man, who wishes to make
quick bucks and wants to lead royal life even if he lives for one
day. The struggles that he faces in his journey is the story of
Tells Us About The Dialogues...
Jayatheertha has penned the dialogues. He has effectively used
popular proverbs in the movie. We search for our love, but we never
happily live the life for the loved ones. I have liked each and
every dialogue in the movie.
You Have Shot With Tigers In Tony...
It was an amazing experience. I have shot a song with eight
tigers and two cubs in Bangkok. Nobody has tried this before in
India. There was a kind of delight and fear during the filming of
the song. But I wanted to overcome the fear and do something new.
It is getting good response from various quarters.
In How Many Screens Is Tony Releasing In Karnataka?
The movie is releasing in Karnataka somewhere between 125 to 150
screens. After two weeks, we want to release the movie in foreign
countries. There are also plans to release the film in Chennai,
Hyderabad and Mumbai.
Tell Us About Aindrita Ray's Role.
Aindrita Ray plays the role of an innocent girl. For her, the
world revolves around her beau. She has done a great job without
make up in the movie.
The Reason Behind Using Lankesh's Poems...
Lankesh's poems have inspired us a lot in the movie. We thought
that it would be nice if we use his lines for some incidents that
occur in the movie. It gives punch to the scenes. Let us not forget
that his words are popular even today.
What Do You Like To Tell Our Audience?
Tony has a super-dooper concept. Audience will be
thrilled and every filmgoer should watch the movie. Their money and
time will not be wasted. I guarantee them that it is a paisa-vasool
