Upendra is named as Sandalwood Brahma in the anniversary celebration of Mysore Press Club. The event was held on Saturday (Dec 21), which was graced by Upendra and other members of the Club.
PN Srinath, President of Mysore Press Club said, "Sandalwood got a huge break in 90s with Upendra movies. He is the director, who took Kannada movies to heights." He also added that there is 'Nada Brahma' (music director Hamsalekha) in Sandalwood, and declared Upendra as 'Sandalwood Brahma'.
Speaking at the event Upendra said, "I am very happy to get felicitated in Mysore, which is called as the Heritage Capital of Karnataka. I am glad for the organisers, who gave me this title." Upendra also entertained the audience with the punching dialogues of Raktha Kaneeru and Budhivantha.
Uppi's much anticipated movie Brahma is likely to hit screens in January. The movie is the first combination of director Chandru and Upendra, which also features Pranitha, Sonu Sood, Nasar, Ananth Nag, Ranghayana Raghu, Sadhu Kokila, Bullet Prakash, Suchendra Prakash, Sumitra and others in the significant roles.
