Bollywood's angry young man Amitabh Bachchan is all set to make his appearance on Kannada screen after a decade. The actor, who was seen himself in Kannada's romantic movie Amruthadhare, will be playing an important role in Sandalwood's forthcoming movie Kabira.
Kabira is the hagiographical movie, which features Sandalwood King Shivaraj Kumar in the lead role. The movie is the biopic of mystic poet and saint Kabira of 15th century. Earlier, Kannada's cultural icon Dr Rajkumar had also done the biopic on Saint Kabira in 1962, which was titled as Mahatma Kabira. The movie, which was directed by P Srinivas was produced by TN Reddy. Apart from Annavru, the movie also had Krishnakumari and Paapamma in the lead roles. Rajkumar was appreciated by mass for his performance in the movie.
However, Shivanna's new movie Kabira is reportedly the remake of old movie Mahatma Kabir for which Amitabh has been approached to play Kabir's teacher role. Shivaraj Kumar will be seen in the same shade, in which Rajkumar was seen in the old movie. Narendra Babu, who is directing Kabira is yet to finalise the remaining casts for other significant roles of the movie.
