P Sheshadri's December 1st Bags National Award

The list of 61st National Film Awards have been announced, today, April 16, 2014. Directorate of Indian film industry and Information Department have jointly announced the list of the movies, which has bagged the awards under various categories.

In Kannada December 1 and Documentary Chitra Prakruthi are the two films, which have bagged the National Awards for the year 2013. The two films are the directorial ventures of Sandalwood's versatile filmmakers - P Sheshadri and Girish Karnad reswpectively. Click on image to watch the trailer of December 1

December 1 deals with the story of Chief Minister's visit to a small village and his overnight stay in a small family, where the members leads their life with their own small pleasures and distant dreams. It was produced by Basanth Kumat Patil and features Niveditha and Santosh Uppina in the lead roles. Kannada's ace music composer V Manohar has scored the music for the movie, which is likely to hit screens in the last week of April 2014.

Whereas Chitra Prakruthi is a documentary movie, which was made on poet and social activist UR Anath Murthy. It focuses on the early life of Murthy and his struggles in his life. It was directed by Girish Karnad. We from Oneindia congragulates P Sheshadri and Girish Karnad.
