After the continuous opposition from the ace filmmaker TS Nagabharana, the makers of Sandalwood's forthcoming movie Mysore Mallige have renamed the film as Miss Mallige. The team was in trouble when the ultra-glamorous and dare-bare photos of female lead Roopa Nataraj was released.

As earlier Mysore Mallige (1992), which was directed by Nagabharana is still considered as Sandalwood's classic, the makers of Miss Mallige have drawn mass criticism from the literary world and art lovers. In July 2013, Nagabharana, who had raised his voice against the movie title, had filed the written complaint to Karnataka Film Chamber Of Commerce (KFCC). He had requested the members of KFCC not to allow the title and had also suggested few other titles. Now it is reported that the court has ordered the makers to change the title for which they have renamed it as Miss Mallige.

Sources from Gandhinagara has said that if the movie would have been named as 'Mysore Mallige', the artistic feelings of Kannadigas would have been disturbed. 'Mysore Mallige' is the collection of love poems, which was written by Kannada poet KS Narasimhaswamy. The critics had lauded the movie Mysore Mallige, and also it is considered as one of the best screen adaptation from a literary work. Continue reading the story on slides...
