Seems like the audience, who had enjoyed the 2013's two biggest TV reality shows - Bigg Boss Kannada and Kannadada Kotyadhipati will not be lucky enough to see the same this year. It is a biggest disappointment for Kannada audience, who had enjoyed the first season of Bigg Boss Kannada and second season of Kannadada Kotyadhipati hosted by Kannada superstars - Abhinaya Chakravarthy Kiccha Sudeep and Power Star Puneet Rajkumar, respectively. Both Bigg Boss Kannada and Kannadada Kotyadhipati, which were aired in Suvarna TV and ETV Kannada respectively, garnered the highest viewership for both channels. It is reported that despite getting huge viewership, the two channels have lost lot of money for hosting the show. The two programs have been considered to be a very big show for Kannada television market. Trade analyst Prashanth Sambargi has opined that these two shows will costs between Rs 25-30 crore per season. He said, "Bigg Boss Kannada had 100 episodes per season, while Kannadada Kotyadhipati had 80. In Kannada market, this investment cannot be monetised by advertisement revenue alone." Rs 750 Crore Advertisement Market
Prashanth said, "In the Rs 750-crore television advertisement market, expecting one-tenth of it to accrue to just two programmes is impossible."

"Even if the flagship show does not make profits, the noise they create help channels and several other programmes garner additional viewership," he added
How Much Did Both The Shows Lost
Prashanth also said that Kannada Bigg Boss and Kannadada Kotyadhipati has estimated to have lost between Rs 5 and Rs 10 crore each season.
They Took Channels To New Heights
"But they managed to propel the channels to new heights and a long standing status quo in the Kannada entertainment market was shaken," he adds.
Lok Sabha Polls, The Main Reason
Suvarna TV chief Anup Chandrashekar has said that this year, audience will be glued more to news channels than entertainment channels as Lok Sabha polls are ahead.
Kotyadhipati Was A Big Hit
He said, "Kannadada Kotyadhipati was a huge hit among all sections and was the most popular show ever."
Hindi KBC In October
"The Hindi KBC is scheduled from October. We cannot clash the Kannada version with that too. This gives us a very small window for an entire season," says Anup, who thinks there is no point in bringing in a new series at this time.
It Is Unclear About Bigg Boss Kannada
However, ETV Kannada officials refused to comment about season two of Bigg Boss Kannada.
