It was a tough task for Kannada filmmaker Ravindranath's friends to bring his body to Bangalore after his death in Hyderabad. The director had reportedly suffered a massive heart attack on Sunday evening, when he was all set to board Bangalore train within few minutes.
After the incidence, the body was taken to the postmortem and later kept in a nearby Police Station. The cops had refused to hand over the body to his friends as they were waiting for Ravindranath's brothers, who lives in Mumbai and else where. By this time, his friends had managed to contact his brothers and then there was intervention of a man, who voluntarily arranged Ravindranath's body to reach Bangalore by making series of calls. Yes, it is none other than Superstar Rajinikanth, who was Ravi's film institute classmate.
It is reported that only after Rajinikanth's intervention, Ravindranath's body was handed over and arrangements were made to transport the body in a flight to Bangalore. Rajini and Ravi were classmates in the Madras Film Institute in early 70s along with many South Indian actors.
Ravindranath had directed few films in Kannada like Henne Ninageke Ee Bandhana, Veerappan, Sangliana 3, Nammoora Huduga among others. Veerappan won the best film state award for the year 1991-92. Ravindranath's body was donated to the MS Ramaiah hospital for research.
