It's a known fact that Crazy Star Ravichandran has recently signed Shrungara Rama, which will be directed V Nagendra Prasad. The director, who is teamed up with Ravi for the first time, has now roped in South lass Lakshmi Rai for the female lead of the movie.
Lakshmi Rai, who was last seen in the small role in Kannada movie Veerappan Attahasa and Kalpana, has confirmed the news of her comeback on Kannada screen. "I've been looking for a good script and this particular one convinced me that it's the one to pick," says Miss Rai, who is a busy bee in Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam film industry from past few years.
Talking about her role in Shrungara Rama opposite Ravichandran, Lakshmi Rai said, "It is a beautiful family entertainer and I play a very strong character, with the narrative revolving around me. I'm looking forward to seeing how my Sandalwood fans will react to this film, since the role is different."
Shrungara Rama, which is being produced by R Shankar is likely to go on floors in May 2014. Swamy has penned the story and dialogues for the movie, which has the Anoop Silin's music. Ravichandran is currently busy with the shooting of Kannada remake of Malayalam hit Drishyam. He is paired opposite Navya Nair in the film.
