It's common for the Kannada movie makers to fight for the theatres, when there is huge competition from other language movies. But this time it was not the same for the makers of Shravani Subramanya as they are fighting to retain Santosh theatre in Gandhinagara since they are facing tough competition from another Sandalwood movie makers.
Producer Jayanna, who owns the distribution rights of Ganesh starrer Shravani Subramanya has reportedly given the permission for the producer of Upendra starrer Brahma - The Leader to release the film in Santosh as the main theatre. Jayanna's decision of replacing their movie with Brahma has kept the makers of Shravani Subramanya in lurch.
Suresh, producer of Shravani Subramanya, who is upset with distributor Jayanna's decision is likely to approach Karnataka Film Chamber Of Commerce (KFCC). "Our film was doing a wonderful business at the Box Office. But Jayanna's decision of replacing Shravani Subramanya with Brahma in Santosh theatre will affect our movie's collection. Our movie will be completing 50 days of its theatrical run, and this decision will also affect this. So, I may approach KFCC regarding the issue," says Suresh. On the other hand, Jayanna says that he is forced to pay this week's theatre rent for Shravani Subramanya, though it is not doing good business. Continue reading the story on slides...
Jayanna Has Given Permission
Distributor Jayanna has asked producer of Brahma to release the movie in Santosh theatre on February 7, 2014.
Reason Behind Replacing Shravani Subramanya
Jayanna said, "Producer of Shravani Subramanya is getting a share of Rs 50,000 and 60,000 from last two weeks. I have to pay this week's theatre rent for Shravani Subramanya. So I have decided to replace it."
Suresh Not Agreeing To Give-up
Producer Suresh, who denies Jayanna's statement said that Shravani Subramanya is still doing good business and it cannot be replaced without his permission.
Jayanna Had Taken Nartaki Theatre For Ninnindale
R Chandru, director of Brahma and distributor of movie said that distributor Jayanna had taken Nartaki theatre for Ninnindale earlier, and had promised to give Santosh theatre for us.
Suresh Is Defending The Collection
R Chandru said, "It's well-known for the people of Gandhinagara that Shravani Subramanya collection is very dull. I don't know why producer Suresh is defending his movie."
Same Problem For The Second Time
However, the makers of Shravani Subramanya is facing the same problem for the second time. In January, the movie was likely to get replaced in Santosh with Ninnindale.
Ninnindale Was Shifted To Nartaki
Later, distributor Jayanna shifted Ninnindale to Nartaki theatre, which was already booked for the release of Brahma.
