Sandalwood
is
in
trouble
again
as
the
Workers
Federation
has
gone
on
a
strike.
Movies
like
Airavatha
and
Ricky
have
stopped
shooting
as
the
workers
have
refused
to
work
until
their
demands
are
met.
The
Federation
is
demanding
better
pay
scale
for
the
workers
working
in
the
film
industry.
They
submitted
a
memorandum
to
the
KFCC
making
their
demands
clear.
However,
the
Chambers
did
not
respond
to
the
memorandum.
The
Federation
has
decided
to
work
on
revised
pay
scale
from
September
15th.
However,
not
all
the
producers
are
ready
to
accept
the
revised
pay
scale.
To
break
the
deadlock,
Kannada
Film
Producer
Association
met
the
Workers
Federation
and
discussed
the
new
pay
scale.
They
are
yet
to
reach
mutually
agreeable
terms.
The
meeting
was
held
with
Additional
Commissioner,
Jinkalappa.
While
the
producers
said
that
the
new
pay
scale
is
unacceptable,
the
workers
have
refused
to
work
for
the
old
pay
scale.
The
meeting
failed
to
end
the
deadlock.
Currently
many
movies
are
being
shot
and
they
have
been
suspended
until
the
new
pay
scale
will
be
adopted.
Producers
like
Sandesh
Nagaraj,
Jayanna,
Shailendra
Babu
and
others
said
that
the
new
pay
scale
proposed
by
the
workers
will
put
too
much
financial
burden
on
the
producers
and
they
cannot
afford
such
huge
increase
in
the
cost
of
production.
