Super Hit Remake Movies In Kannada
Of late, many movies in Kannada happen to be a remake of hit movie of another language. While there is no dearth of viewers for such movies, there are many who criticize the movie makers for making remakes. The critics of such movies say that the trend of remake is killing originality in the industry.
However, many actors have defended such movies. Recently, Sandalwood superstar Sudeep said that remakes are necessary for the industry. Most of his recent hit movies have been remakes of Telugu or Tamil movies. Sudeep argued that many in the industry survive on the movie for their livelihood. If a remake movie becomes hit, those workers who are also benefited.
Whatever the reason is, it is undeniable that of late many people aren't coming forward to make original movies. Sure movies like Lucia and Simple Aagi Ondhu Love Story have captured the audience with their original idea. However, Sandalwood movies are yet to make their mark outside Karnataka in a big way.

Hudugaru starring Puneet Rajkumar, Srinagar Kitty, and Yogi is a remake of Tamil movie Naadodigal. Movie was released in 2011.
Bulbul
Darshan and Ambarish starrer Bulbul came out in 2013. It is a remake of Telugu movie Darling.
Varadanayka
Starring Chiranjeevi Sarja and Sudeep, Varadanayaka was released it 2013. This is a remake of Telugu movie Lakshyam.
Brindavana
Brindavan starring Darshan is a remake of hit Telugu movie, Brindavanam. The movie was released in 2013.
Maanikya
This is said to be the biggest hit in Kannada movie and grossed the highest amount ever. Starring Sudeep and Ravichandran, it is a remake of Telugu movie Mirchi.
Drishya
A remake of Super hit Malayalam movie Drishyam, this Ravichandran movie got very good response from viewers and critics.
Sharan Adhyaksha
Sharan's second movie with director Nanda Kishore is a remake of Tamil movie Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam. Sharan Adhyaksha was released on August 2014.
Power***
Puneet Rajkumar starrer Power*** became the Sandalwood debut for star actress Trisha. The movie is remake of Telugu super movie Dookudu. The movie got the biggest opening in the history of Kannada movies.
