Who Is The Best Kannada Actor Of 2014?

Like every year, 2014 too saw a huge string of flop movie and bad performance by the actors in Kannada film industry. However, some of the performances by the top actors in the industry stood out among the ruins and impressed the audience and fans.

The year started with the dismal performance of the movie Ninnindale which starred Power Star Puneet Rajkumar and Erica Fernandes. Puneet was able to redeem himself with a power packed performance in his next movie Power***. Real star Upendra too managed to come up with a great perfomance in his movie Brahma.

The movie Brahma did not do spectacularly in the box office, but the actor was praised for playing the dual role with much elan and ferocity. Many other movies that got released around the same time crumbled due to poor performance by the lead actors and lack of strong script.

Among these flops, actor Srimurali made a roaring comeback into the film industry with the blockbuster hit movie Ugramm. As a dreaded gangster called Agasthya, Srimurali played the role of a fierce man with a calm demeanor with ease. The actor's popularity grew ten folds after the success of the movie.

Other noteworthy performances of the year were by Sudeep and Yash. Kichcha Sudeep played the role of a son to Crazy Star Ravichandran for the first time in the movie Maanikya. Sudeep's chemistry with Ravichandran became the highlight of the movie. Yash on the other hand established himself as a top league actor with the movie Gajakesari.

Perhaps the most underrated performance of the year was by actor/director Rakshit Shetty. Playing the role of a goon name Richie in Ulidavaru Kandanthe, the actor was his sublime best. Apart from brilliant cinematography and screenplay, Rakshit Shetty's portrayal of a violent and psychotic trigger happy goon was appreciated by all the critics.
