held

Saturday(June
18)
in
Hyderabad.
The

South
industries
were
present
in
the
event,
making
it
even
more
colorful.
Nominations
for
the
awards
were
announced
almost
a
month
ago,
and
cinema
lovers
were
given
the
responsibility
to
select
the
best
in
12
categories,
in
Kannada,
Telugu,
Tamil
and
Malayalam.

Puneeth
Rajkumar
was
selected
as
Best
Actor
(Male)
for
power
packed
performance
in
Pavan
Wadeyar's
Ranavikrama.
Parul
Yadav
was
Best
Actor
(Female)
for
her
performance
in
Aatagara.
Sai
Kumar
was
the
Best
Supporting
Actor
for
Rangitaranga.
This
was
Sai
Kumar's
first
Filmfare
award
for
a
Kannada
film
and
third
award,
overall.
Sai
Kumar
was
quite
ecstatic
in
his
speech
for
the
same
reason.
Sudha
Rani
was
selected
as
Best
Supporting
Actor
(Female)
for
her
subtle
performance
in
Vaasthu
Prakaara.
Like
all
the
award
ceremonies
this
year,
Anup
Bhandari's
Rangitaranga
produced
by
HK
Prakash
was
selected
as
Best
Film
in
Filmfare
as
well.
No
prizes
for
guessing,
Anup
Bhandari
won
the
best
director
award
for
Rangitaranga.
Anup
Bhandari
received
a
thunderous
applause
from
the
crowd
for
his
fantastic
speech
during
which
he
requested
bigwigs
from
other
industries
to
support
Kannada
cinema
by
providing
a
few
screens
for
Kannada
cinema,
which
is
on
the
rise,
in
their
respective
states.
Sridhar
V
Sambhram
was
the
Best
Music
Director
for
Krishna
Leela.
This
was
first
Filmfare
award
for
Sridhar.
Sridhar
won
State
Award
for
the
same
movie
as
well.
Jayanth
Kaikini
received
Best
Lyrics
award
for
his
song
Nenape
Nitya
Mallige
from
Suri's
Kendasampige.
Santosh
Venki
was
Best
Singer
(Male)
for
his
soulful
rendering
of
Raja
Rani
from
Rhaate
and
Inchara
Rao
was
Best
Singer
(Female)
for
Kareyole
from
Rangitaranga.
This
was
the
first
Filmfare
award
for
both
Santosh
and
Inchara.
As
one
can
expect,
they
were
joyful
with
the
arrival
of
first
black
lady.
The
Critics
Award
for
Best
Actor
(Male)
was
Sanchaari
Vijay
for
his
splendid
performance
in
Naanu
Avanalla..
Avalu
for
which
he
won
both
National
and
State
awards.
The
Critics
Award
for
Best
Actor
(Female)
was
Rachita
Ram
for
her
cheerful
performance
in
Ranna.
It
was
Rangitaranga's
show
yet
again,
with
the
team
winning
4
awards.
Apart
from
these
awards
and
speeches
from
the
Kannada
stars,
there
were
few
dazzling
performances
from
Kannada
stars
Haripriya,
Amulya
and
Pranitha.
In
fact
the
awards
event
started
off
with
Haripriya's
performance
for
Kannada
medley
songs.
Fans
were
not
happy
with
selections
for
awards
like
Best
Actor
(Female)
and
a
few
other
awards.
But
at
the
end
of
the
day,
these
are
selected
by
the
audiences
and
we
need
to
respect
their
selections.
The
event
will
be
telecasted
very
soon
on
television,
and

as
anxious
as
