Kannada Movies Film Festival

Talking to Times of India, Rajendra Singh Babu, the chairperson of Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy has said, "We want to showcase contemporary Kannada films all over the country. If you see the basket of films, it is not just commercial films or only critically acclaimed films, we are showing good films from all genres. The aim is not only to reach out to Kannadigas outside Karnataka but also non-Kannadigas."

This is just the first of many such film festivals to follow, "the festival will also be organised next in Mumbai, Hyderabad and Chennai. We want this to be a regular affair and it is a means to expand market for our films," Rajendra Singh has said.

Unfortunately, no big stars will be able to attend the event, thanks to their busy schedules. Talking about this Rajendra Singh has said, "all the big stars are busy shooting and we could not get them to attend this time. In the forthcoming festivals, we will definitely take our stars. No technician is a substitute for star power. We have to utilise it to expand our market."

The films that have been chosen to be a part of the festival are : Thithi, Harivu, Mr & Mrs Ramachari, Naanu Avanalla Avalu, Vidaaya, First Rank Raju, Rangitaranga, Krishna Leela and Shivalinga.
